Basically, here's a list of hands that a person might slow-play:

- They've flopped their set.
- They've nailed their flush.
- They've nailed their straight.
- They've flopped two pair.
- They've booked up.

When slow playing, you must note what is actually on the board! I've seen far too many players bust their hand by slow playing their set, or their two pair, when there's a flush draw on the board. Observe. Check to see if there are hands that have a reasonable chance of beating you:

- Is there a flush draw out there?
- A straight draw?
- If you've flopped a flush holding two low cards, you've got to keep in mind that other people are still drawing to a higher flush.

You must not overvalue your hand; it's great you've flopped your set with your pocket pair, but you cannot slow play it if there's a potential flush out there. It's just not safe betting. You're letting people draw cheaply - is your hand strong enough?

A great time to slow-play:

- You've flopped the nuts (or a very strong hand.. i.e. 7d, 7s or Kd, Kh)
- There are minimal draws on the board. (3d, 7h, Ks)
- The pot is small.
- You want your opponents to catch up a bit. You're so far ahead that it is very unlikely they will catch up completely.

Hopefully another player has caught a pair of kings and will call you down, but you want to check this one out and let others improve their hands so that they bet and they think they're ahead.

A bad time to slow-play:

- You've flopped your set. (Hole cards: 2s, 2d)
- The flop holds 2 suited cards, and they're also connected. (7d, 8d, 2h)
- The pot is large, and there are still 4 other players in it.

What will happen in the latter example is that people have great odds to call with their drawing hands, so you must be careful even when betting aggressively. Just don't slow play!

Classic Kenner humor is evident on every page in Kate's sassy personality. I've come to enjoy that facet of much of Julie's work and always look forward to what direction it will go in each book. The escapades begin on the first page and don't let up until the story ends. From the moment the little old man/demon jumps through Kate's window we're on a roller coaster ride of excitement and mystery. There are enough twists to the story to keep us guessing as to what Goramesh's plan is and what exactly the mystery item is that he's looking for. Kate Connor is the type of woman so many of us wish we could be. She kicks ass against the big bad monsters of the world, finds plenty of time to volunteer in the community, shuttle her children and their friends all over town, and still get home in time to make sure the last minute dinner parties for her husband and his associates goes off without a hitch. TechNewsWorld broke the scoop on an exciting union that bodes well for Motorola cell phone gamers.

Chinese gaming company Shanda Interactive and Motorola have just signed the ink on a partnership.

Figures from the same article suggest a mobile game scene in China reaching a lofty US$714 million by 2008.

Fortunate Motorola E680g cell phone owners can now look forward to mobile versions of Shanda Interactive's World of Legend and Magical Land games on upcoming customized versions of their handset hardware.

At least this will give some Pocket PC game aficionados something to grin about in the future.

Especially if you're prone to display damage from an overly enthused stylus-stabbing six year old.

This will have to be in reference to future upcoming Motorola cell phone game releases from Shanda as I'm still yet to encounter a six year old capable of role playing game comprehension.

Pocket PC gamers will have to be content with using this as a Motorola cell phone platform backup while their iPAQ or Axim is docked, at least until some other titles are released.

As for covert gaming at the office, you may have to choose between staring fixedly at a Motorla cell phone or your Pocket PC.

It's really no contest if it's a matter of corporate gamer subterfuge as the former is decidedly more conspicuous.

Not that Shanda Interactive's initial offerings are anything to sneeze at in the RPG category, though.

Admittedly, I haven't played a whole lot in the way of Shanda Interactive titles.

It might have more to do with their immense popularity placed smack on the Chinese desktop PC game scene.

Still, it will be interesting to see how closely they can emulate the gorgeous anime-like visuals of Magical Land and the sharp, detailed textures of World of Legend, as evidenced by their screenshots.

The Pocket PC isn't a slouch in the role playing game department, either, with popular PPC releases like Ancient Evil featuring the same Diablo-esque dungeon crawl creature kills as its desktop PC cousin in full isometric real-time lighting glory.

I've tried steadfastly avoiding desktop PC MMORPG games (massively multiplayer online RPG) games featuring large numbers of online players interacting in virtual worlds due their extremely addictive nature.

A recovering RPG addict, I have already succumbed to the frenzy invoked by Blizzard's Diablo dungeon crawl hack-and-slash series on the desktop PC platform a few years ago.

Interestingly enough, these first two releases from Shanda will appeal to the darker RPG junkie side that seems to inflict so many.

Virtual denizons of the desktop PC virtual worlds in World of Warcraft and EverQuest (dubbed EverCrack by my colleagues) will know exactly what I'm talking about, and Motorola cell phone gamers could soon be foaming at the mouth for more.

I personally know of one World of Warcraft addiction leading to divorce.

He perpetuated his delusions of grandeur during his real life career as a pizza delivery guy with strange and somewhat sad Superman-like bravado.

Go stand in a position where you can target all six soldiers without moving. Always heal a Critically Injured Soldier first unless he is already laying down for a while. Target the next soldier before you are done healing the current one.
Nothing much to say anymore, it will take some practice but when you know what to do it is easy.

Do not leave Hammerfall or Theramore untill you have 290 First Aid!

In Dungeons and Dragons Online a wizard can be very fun to play if you know how to properly utilize their skills and abilities. They have a large variety of spells that you can choose from and it must be chosen effectively. They have the advantage of range but their most fatal flaw is their defense and close combat. They lack the armors that a warrior or tank type can wear. Unlike most massive multiplayer online games, the wizard is more than just a high burst damage class. To begin, let's figure which race would be your choice.

In DDO, the humans gain an extra Feat at first level which is useful to all classes. The extra feat can be used on toughness for extra hit points or dodge. A wizard class needs a lot of boost on survivability. Dwarves start with +2 to constitution and a -2 to Charisma. Con bonus gives you extra HP and adds to concentration skill which will help a wizard cast while being attacked. The Cha penalty will not hurt too much on a wizard class. Dwarfs also get a +4 bonus to Balance skill. A dwarf is ideal for pleasure and roleplay but not for stat wise. Elves begin with +2 Dexterity and -2 to Constitution. A well played wizard should not get hit much in melee combat so the extra the Dex will be very handy when it comes to avoiding traps and spell effects. Another defensive stat. Elves also has a weapon proficiency as well as immunity to Sleep and resistance to spells such as Suggestion and Hold Person.

Elf is a very strong choice for a wizard class. Halflings get a +2 to Dexterity and a -2 to Strength. The Str stat does absolutely nothing for the wizard class. They also receive a +1 to AC as well as a stealth bonus. Halflings are also a good choice as they are a sneaky, small and good for party support. Warforged gets a +2 bonus to Constitution and -2 to both Wisdom and Charisma. Losing on Wisdom would hurt the most. Wisdom reduces the ability to shrug off many enchantments as well as their general resistance to many spells. A Warforged wizard gets Repair spells which you can use to act as your own cleric and damage dealer. Warforged wizards are not exactly the best class but can also have their benefits, especially when it comes to solo play.

Versatility and knowledge are a wizard's strong points. Play with your strengths and weakness and everything about your spells function in order to master a wizards true potential. You need to be able to understand how certain spells may have different effects on different type of monsters, learn how to kite, how much damage you deal to each mob and how many nukes it will take to kill that specific mob before it reaches you into close melee combat. A well built and well played wizard and be the difference between victory and victory against an overwhelming battle in DDO.

There are many ways to find good bets in horse racing handicapping, but there are also a few bets that have a very poor strike rate and just don't pay. One of the tools I use to find horses that are live and ready to win are Special Workout Conditions*.

The special workout criteria I use point out horses that have posted an exceptional workout that meets several criteria. In most cases those horses are pretty good bets if other handicapping factors are used to weed out the phonies from the ponies. However, there is one time whenthose special workouts point out a bet that could probably best be described as a sucker bet.

I'm talking about maidens, horses who have never won a race. They often post several special workouts, but then fail to produce a score in the afternoon. Now please be aware that I am not talking about "morning glories," horses who have brilliant workouts in the morning, but then run poorly in the afternoon. Those horses make a career out of disappointing their backers. Maidens with the special workout criteria I use may well be good bets in the future, but they lack one key to making them a good wager.

The thing that they lack is racing experience. The workout times posted on most track websites and Equibase fail to give crucial information that would let you know if a maiden who had posted a special workout was indeed a good proposition, or too risky. The trouble is that you don't know if that horse worked in company or alone. If I know that a maiden has worked in company, alongside other horses and in simulated race conditions, then I might be willing to take a chance on it.

What happens with maidens who have posted those special workouts is that they get out of the gate good and flash early speed, but they cannot handle other horses challenging them and fade. This is particularly true of maidens who break from an inside post position. The ironic thing is that many of these maidens who post a bullet work or a special workout go off at short odds. It is hard to handicap maiden races and it seems that a maiden with a bullet work or a special workout will be an exceptional bet, but because they are usually untested and unschooled, they are poor bets and should be avoided. On the other hand, older horses who post a one of the special workouts are sometimes very good and over looked, making them excellent overlays.

  But the success of your character as well as your adventures in any MMORPG would depend on two factors: your strategy and your skills.

  Most MMORPG players fear that they don't have the time to build up their levels and participate in the many experience-rewarding quests in the games they have decided to subscribe to. They fear that they are at a disadvantage compared to other players who could commit so many hours on a particular game, whereas they could only play for a limited time on a semi-daily basis.

  This is not true.

  There is a fine line between quality play and quantity play. A player may play for hours upon hours, but if he doesn't have the requisite skills and a sound strategy, he won't level up just as fast. But a player who could only play for, say, 3 hours everyday can achieve a higher level if he has the right skill set and if he employs the proper strategies.

  Which brings us to the point of this article: there are a number of universal strategies that can be used with most MMORPG models. Knowing them would help you maximize the time you could commit for the game. What are these strategies? Read on, brave adventurer...

  1. Know the character you want before you build him/her. Every MMORPG offers the same basic character types. Knowing what you want and what you need before you build such a character would give your adventuring some purpose. Each character type has specific strengths and weaknesses. And since leveling up would require you to allot certain points to a variety of attributes, you will have to know which of these attributes would serve your character best. A knight/warrior, for example, needs an initial build with the hit points and power maxed out. Every time such a character would level up, you have to allot points to these 2 attributes only. A mage/priest/acolyte needs an initial build with intelligence set at the maximum, and this is the attribute that should be developed.

  2. Partying is key in any MMORPG. Joining a party of fellow gamers would allow you to level up faster. Not only will you be able to take on more powerful monsters which you wouldn't be able to deal with by yourself, you'd also be able to venture to places that are otherwise too dangerous for you. Additionally, more powerful monsters would drop more valuable items, and you could use these or sell them for a lot of currency!

  3. Look for a tank. A tank is basically a character that would attack a monster first. This would cause the monster to focus its own attacks on that player, allowing you to kill it from behind, and safe from its fatal blows. Once the monster is killed, you'd receive a majority of the experience points. It goes without saying that your tank should be a character with high hit points.

  4. Use magic chests or banks. A lot of MMORPG models utilize a deposit system where you could store the items you have decided to keep as well as the money you have earned. Use these! Not only will you be able to clear up your inventory screen, but if your character would die in battle, you won't have to lose the valuable items that you have gained.

  5. Do not pick a fight you cannot win. Know the level status of the monsters, as well as other players in PvP (Player vs. Player) situations. MMORPG models use a certain algorithm that makes the determination of the winner a mathematical fact. Dribbling Drill.

1. Set up a series of five cones in a line three to four feet apart.
2. Start by weaving in and out of the cones without the ball.
3. After you get a feel for the drill slowly weave in and out of the cones with a ball.

Trapping Drill.

1. Start out next to a concrete or sturdy wall with a soccer ball.
2. Kick the soccer ball against the wall with different strengths.
3. Trap the ball with your feet, chest, and thigh when the ball bounces back.
4. Kick the ball from short and longer distances.

If a wall is not available try this.

1. Throw a ball up high in the air.
2. Trap the ball with your feet, thigh, and chest.
3. Baby the ball into your foot, thigh, and chest.
4. Do not let it bounce off!

Shooting Drill.

1. Go to a soccer field or anywhere soccer nets are available to use.
2. Hang an old tire up in the top right and top left corners of the net.
3. Set your ball from different places outside of the eighteen box (larger box surrounding the goal) and shoot the ball for the inside of the tire.

When shooting a soccer ball focus on non shooting foot placement which is a couple inches next to the ball. Your shooting leg should be knee over toe. Knee over toe means to have your knee simply over your toe when contact with the ball is made. The point of this is to prevent high shot balls. The top right and left corners are the best places to place a shot in a game.

Leveling Your Druid in World of Warcraft

Druids, like shammies and pallies, do a little bit of everything. They shape shift to the appropriate form of the role they take on. If they are tanking they go into bear form, if they are on DPS, they shape shift to cat form. By shifting into the individual forms, they are a little more efficient in that role than a shaman or a paladin would be. By the same token, they would have to come out of that form to perform another task. For instance, where a shaman of paladin can heal while tanking, a druid would have to come out of bear form and back into his original form to do the same. Just like any other class, the more DPS a character can deal the easer it is to level. For this reason, the build that allows for the quickest leveling is one that utilizes the Feral talents.

A druid that is going for a DPS build is going to want armor with strength, agility and crit bonuses. A little bit of a spirit bonus wouldn't be bad either, to help with health regeneration. Most leather gear is going to be useful. Most of the DPS is going to be achieved in cat form. In order to use a weapon, you have to be in your original form. They main reason you would be doing that is you are acting as a healer. As always, you want a weapon with the highest DPS you can get, but ultimately, you shouldn't have to use it very often.

As you get talent points allocate them accordingly: Nature's Grasp 1/1; Ferocity 5/5; Furor 5/5; Naturalist 5/5; Omen of Clarity1/1; Brutal Impact 2/2; Thick Hide 3/3; Feral Instinct 3/3; Sharpened Claws 3/3; Feral Swiftness 2/2; Feral Charge 1/1; Primal Fury 2/2; Predatory Strikes 3/3; Shredding Attacks 2/2; Faerie Fire (Feral) 1/1; Savage Fury 2/2; Heart of the Wild 5/5; Survival of the Fittest 3/3; Leader of the Pack 1/1; Improved Leader of the Pack 2/2; Primal Tenacity 3/3; Predatory Instincts 5/5; and Mangle 1/1. This build will get you all the way to level 70. Some people prefer to use the Feral build to level quickly to level 60, then re-spec to healer. Unless you have a very strong need for a healer, it is not a good idea. Druids can heal fairly well, but they are no where the healer that a Priest is. This class is much better at DPS and tanking than healer.

Druids are really aren't hard to level up as long as you have the right build. They are very different form all other classes, so it is going to take a lot of time and experimentation to play the character as efficiently as possible. The variety of roles this class provides more than makes up for the work it takes to learn the nuances. Like other hybrid classes, the druid levels faster when working in support of a group, but this character is very capable of soloing, even at the lower levels. With the right build, they won't be there very long anyway.

But every day, all over the world, there are people who strictly play the tote board and some of them do make a profit from horse racing.

As horse betting systems go, tote board methods are attractive because they require no preparation or handicapping before the races. You simply stand or sit and watch the board, make certain calculations in your mind or using a handheld computer or calculator, and place a bet, usually just before the race goes off (this is where excellent timing is handy).

An over under system is based on the morning line odds. Crunching numbers of odds and payouts at many tracks has shown that a long term profit can be derived from betting on horses whose odds at post time are a certain amount above or under the morning line odds for that runner.

For instance, all horses in the morning line with odds of 4-1 to 8-1 will be watched and any one with odds at post time of half what the morning line is may be a good bet. So a runner with a morning line of 4-1 who is going off at 2-1 may actually be a good bet according to historical data. That depends upon what betting trends occur at that track. The horse in this example would be called an, "under."

By the same token, using horses in the 4-1 to 8-1 odds range again, a horse going off at least 50% above morning line odds might be a good bet, so a runner whose morning line is 6-1 who is going off at 9-1 or more, may be a profitable bet. In this case we are talking about an, "over."

There are several variations to this system and of course, it depends upon the trends at the track you are playing and each one may be different. It is possible to show a long term profit, but because betting trends may change and there are other variables involved, there are no guarantees that what worked in the past will work again.
