The following four ideas kept coming up and I ask that you think how they might apply to your life.

1. What do I want?

You need to have a clear picture of what your goal is. Nick knew that one day he would play soccer for Australia. I still remember the day that he came home from school saying that the reason he had to learn the national anthem was so he could sing it before any big games. Have a reason to get up every day and do all the mundane training in the cold. You have to be able to see the big picture and often it helps to surround yourself with reminders of these goals. Nick has a picture of his heroes that sits in his room, an unconscious reason to live his dreams and make them come true.

2. How will it happen?

You also need a game plan. What skills do you need to learn, or habits need to form? Champions do what they do without thinking about it because they have done it so many times before. They know where they want to be and have a road map to get there. Nick realised that he needed to make representative teams and worked hard long before that he became a member of these teams, so that the selectors would think about overlooking him. He did not always start off as the "best" player in a team, but soon found out what was needed and worked on improving his skills so that often he finished the season with the "most consistent" award. So work out what steps you need to take to get where you want to be and make small consistent improvements on your skills.

3. I will make it happen

You need to take responsibility for making your dreams come true. I think this involves taking ownership of both the good and bad sides. When things have gone off track ask yourself what have I done to make this happen and what do I have to do to change it? Do not blame anyone or anything else. Firstly check your own actions and attitudes before looking outwards because in the long run that is the only thing that you are in complete control of. But also take ownership of all the positive things too. Be proud and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they might seem at the time. This will not only make your journey much more enjoyable, it will also bolster your confidence to take the next step.

4. Who else do I need on my team?

Nick was also the under 10 regional tennis champion but had to choose between tennis and soccer. Soccer won as it was his true passion, but when I asked him why, he replied that he got to play soccer with his mates, he had a team to enjoy it with and tennis was only fun at squad time. Every champion needs to have a team with them to get them over the line. A coach, to point out what skills that needs to be worked on and to give ideas for improvement. A trainer, to push them when they do not have the motivation or confidence to take the next step. Mentors, in whose footsteps you can follow and on whose actions you can learn from and improve on, mentors who you may not have even met personally but have done what you want to do. And finally a cheer squad, the people who believe you can do it and stand on the side line in the cold and rain waiting to tell you how wonderful you are regardless of the outcome. Who do you need to get on (or off) your team in order for you to become a champion?

It really is that easy to become a champion and a hero. So you just need to decide where your passion lies and follow four simple steps so that one day soon you can be a champion in the eyes of your parents, your children or maybe a whole nation if that is what you want.

A question that many of my kid's parents ask me is "What can I do to work with my child on their own?" Parents don't always have time to take their kids down to the soccer field and are often looking for things they can do in the backyard with their players.

My boys and I came up with a game one afternoon after watching the World Cup that still is a big favorite of theirs. Kids like to shoot and score, and this game is all about shooting and scoring.
They just call it "Penalty Kicks." What we do is set up two goals on either side of the back yard.
You'll want the goals far enough apart so that you can pass the ball through the cones about 3 out of 4 times. You can use cones or mini-goals. Either way, the goals should be about 4-5 feet across.

Your child can shoot closer to their goal than you to yours so that they can experience about the
same success rate (3 out of 4 in the net). Take turns alternating "penalty shots" with no goalies. Take a total of 5 each. Whoever has more wins!

If you are tied after 5 shots, go to "Sudden Death." Alternate shots until one makes it and the other doesn't. If you get the shooting distance correct for both you and your child, you can create a competitive and exciting mini-game environment.

Be sure to practice this drills with both feet. If you can start your kids out early taking shots with their right and left feet, they will thank you for it later in life!

You head in to a boss, taking a beating from trash along the way, and then when you get to your goal you end up wiping and wiping and wiping. Those repair bills really add up, especially when you get farther on and have all epic gear. It doesn't seem like much of a gold earning method. But changes since The Burning Crusade came out have resulted in a potentially profitable situation - very profitable.

First, if the guild you are in is just working on getting through one of the first 25-man dungeons, this probably won't work so well. You can suggest that the guild bank pick up repairs on new content. There are multiple guilds out there using a policy like this and it's a real money saver. But assuming that your guild is farming zones that they have already completed, there are two ways to get gold. First, the bosses in Outland dungeons are pretty rich. You can get quite a bit of coin off of them just from the kill.

The real money maker though is in the Badges of Honor. Most bosses drop two of them, while a few drop three. If you think about how many bosses are in a zone, and how quickly a well-running guild can clear them, you'll start to see how it can add up. For instance Black Temple has 8 bosses including Illidan. That's two badges from each of them, except Illidan who drops 3. So you'd get 17 badges from a full clear. Hyjal Summit produces 11 for a full clear, which a decent guild can do in one night. If you guild clears both every week, that's 28 badges.

To turn this into cash, you just need to buy items with your badges and then sell them. The easiest is usually epic gems, which often go for 300 gold a piece in the auction house. They cost 15 badges each to purchase, so in the example above you'd be able to buy about two per week. 600 gold per week just for raiding, and that doesn't include gold that drops from the bosses. As you can see, you don't have to go out and grind mobs or professions to make reasonable gold. In fact, with a good guild you can earn tons of gold just by showing up to raids (and being careful not to die). In fact, this is probably one of the easiest methods to accumulate wealth, and the least taxing because you don't even feel like you're farming. If you're lazy, that's how to gold farm.

Action:The game is certainly long enough, however it is an action RPG, so if that turns you off, it may not be the right game. The battle system was actually lacking a bit. Most of the first half of the adventure is hack and slash and the second half involved staying alive long enough to cast the powerhouse spells, pray for the right limit breaks, and fuse materia until your eyes are bleeding.

Story: Final fantasy storylines usually are fairly amazing. This one is no exception. Probobly the best feature of the game, the story got into the heavy issues of notions of god, man vs. machine, genetic modification, jealously, anger and all of the other subjects that make a person keep reading. This is bar none the best aspect of the game because it fills in many of the blanks left by the notorious Final Fantasy 7. This is enough reason alone to buy the game.

Graphics: Terrific. Enough said. I was blown away and for the first time, really saw the power of the PSP engine. You are treated to stunning summoning visuals, great in-game cutscenes and a very decorated enviornment to play in. There is a good deal of eye candy to be seen here.

Replay value: High. New game plus allows the player to go back and pick up all the goodies they missed out on. Without a strategy guide, it would be pretty easy to miss a good portion of the game and there are enough secrets to unlock that it gives the player plenty of value.

Overall, the game was very good. I give it an 8.5/10. It would be higher but for the somewhat boring and random combat system.

Customer Review: Didn't hold up well under wet weather
This is a portrait layout scorebook which IMHO isn't as user-friendly as a landscape. It is helpful if you have large rosters and there is a continuous batting order (little league), but that's about the only plus I can see. The boxes are almost too small to use. The printed page ink ran in the rain, and the pages don't dry out very well afterwards. If someone opened the book to a blank page and the page got wet to any extent, it was unusable even when dry. Maybe some people like this style and brand, but I think there must be better.

As this year's E3 companies such as Activision-Blizzard revealed their latest offerings for the PC gamer and while it may not be the bonanza it was in years passed there is still much to gossip about.

Rise of the Argonauts - Focusing on Greek myths, this offering from Liquid Entertainment promises to bring in characters and creatures from the most popular Greek myths and presents them in a format that allows for fast-paced combat and rich storytelling.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - This time around, the conflict escalates as the Empire of the Rising Sun enters the fray. With an entirely new faction, the game promises to be even more exciting and satisfying than any Red Alert title to date.

For me left for dead appears to be very promising as it has my all favourite mode of all time - COOP! The thought of battling it out with hundreds of monsters with friends is a very promising prospect. Coupled with the fact that it is being produced with the source engine makes this the highlight of E3 for me.

Crysis warhead will also have high expectations considering how much of a success its predecessor was. It will be interesting to see how Far Cry 2 compares to this title in terms of graphics and game play considering Crysis was supposed to be a sequel to far cry in the first place.

I will also be looking forward to Empire: Total War 3 as I always find this genre of PC game very enjoyable as well as the extra challenge that will come with 3D naval combat.

The older I get the more determined I am to not have to settle. When I was young I always could pick out the most expensive item in a store, at least that is what my mother says. Not much has changed in 50 years. My desire for quality has simply grown more quality conscious.

Although I wasnt born with a silver spoon I never wavered from my standards. Sure, over the years, I have had to settle at times. For example, at one time I owned an older Mercedes Benz, but at least I owned one. I say owned because it didnt take me long to figure out that the repair bills were higher on my Benz just for the name.

My taste in clothes is much the same. I have been happily inducted into the fashion police club. I remember fondly the year I spent working for Chase Manhattan Bank in the executive wing in Tampa, Florida before they merged with J.P. Morgan. There were three of us that hung out together. We would rate the way the other employees were dressed and sometimes it was pretty bad. We werent cruel or rude, we just quietly giggled over lunch.

I also remember well a visit from my baby brother, Steven, down from Atlanta, Georgia. I met him at the Tampa Airport and when he saw me again for the first time in six years he exclaimed, Wow sis, you are gorgeous! That made my millennium for sure!

My taste for fine wine and food is no different than my tastes for anything else. I may not drink $100 bottles of wine every night but I have enjoyed a few. And then there is chocolate; my one true vice.

I have a real love/hate relationship with chocolate. I love it when it is dark, creamy, and rich but as for my hips, well I think you understand. I have eaten all the best chocolates you can name, from Godiva to Ghirardelli, from Swiss to Belgian. However it wasnt until early in 2006 that I discovered the absolutely, unmistakably, most fabulous chocolate you could ever begin to imagine.

The bakery that I discovered that will forever satisfy my chocolate fantasy is located about 12 miles south of Los Angeles in Whittier, California. My Little Taste of Italy is owned by Gloria Mount and her daughter, Liz. From my very first order of Chocolate Chip, Chocolate dipped biscotti I was hooked. Then, late last year Liz came up with a recipe for Cappuccino Brownies that are out-of-this-world! They are so rich and creamy that Jan Verhoeff, another of their loyal customers, has rightly dubbed them, Orgasmic! I have yet to try their Bada Bing-chocolate bundt cake but since it has my favorite ingredient in it you know it will not be long before it too passes over my quivering lips.

I dont know what their secret is, but I, for one, am certainly glad they found it. Gloria has informed me that My Little Taste of Italy uses authentic Italian chocolate in all of their chocolate goodies. I dont know what else they do that makes them sooooo yummy, but whatever it is I hope they never stop doing it. Its no wonder to me that they are gaining a reputation for all of their tasty treats not only across America but in foreign lands as well.

Mama Gloria, as Mrs. Mount is known, is working on several taste sensations for the upcoming holiday. She tells me that they have developed two new flavors of biscotti and a new Florentine cookie she calls Hot Mama. I wonder what that secret ingredient is.

This week, it appears that Buffalo will struggle versus an inflated 9 1/2 point spread; however, based on a number of reasons outlined below and while I am not bold enough to call an outright win for the Raiders, all signs point to a tightly fought contest.

So, why are the Bills facing potential trouble versus the spread this week?

It's a fact: teams that can hurt opposing defenses with long gains on the ground (evidenced with a high BRY%F) that also take a low number of penalty calls related to the 'break-down' of offensive plays (i.e., ineligible receivers, too many men on the field, etc.), are an excellent wager against the spread, 7 years in a row.

Reason #3
Teams coming off a 4th Quarter Comeback (a game where a team that was losing at the start of the 4th quarter, came back to win SU) that gave up at least 30 Passing Attempts in this previous game, AND are currently facing an opponent with a Season Turn-over Differential of <= 0.5; happen to be a brutal 27-97 ATS since 1994 and 2-22 ATS in the past 3 seasons alone.

Buffalo is in just this spot, after opening the 4th quarter last week at Jacksonville, down 13-10, and coming away with the 20-16 victory. It's a classic let-down situation that will not be helping the Bill's cause this Sunday.
